Welcome Everyone to Fifty South !!!
Yipeee Summer is here and we are so blessed to be enjoying the bounty that this season has to offer. I have been for almost twenty years supporting our local Farmers and what an incredible journey it is. I realize what a fragile existence they have to provide us with such bounty. Mother nature can be their greatest asset or their worst enemy. I once had a farmer ask me if having holes in the lettuce would be a problem for us. I wondered why she might ask such a question. The fields had gotten hit by hail and people are so accustomed to fruits and vegetables looking so perfect, that she was afraid we wouldn't want the lettuce and therefore it would need to be wasted. So just like the imperfections of life we enjoyed delicious "holy" lettuce on occasion.
For me the essence of what we are creating here at Fifty South is a loving and welcoming environment that supports local and regional business to the best of our ability. The food you enjoy here is not only made with love but it is raised and harvested with love. Thank you for sharing the "fruits" of our labor.
Just a reminder that we do support fair trade, organic and bio dynamically farmed food, beer and wine. Our fryer oil waste is used to make bio-diesel fuel for cars and home use. We recycle, compost, use collected rain water, we have wonderful herbs from our window boxes and back garden for fun. My dear friend Dick religiously picks up our non meat refuse for "his girls" (pet pigs) Violet and Olive.
So my dear friends and family, THANK YOU for your continued support. It's our pledge to continuously use the highest quality ingredients and keep bringing you beautiful food made with love and goodness. Thank you for enriching so many lives including my own.

Our Pledge
All of our food is cooked to order using the finest ingredients. We have been dedicated to creating and preparing delicious wholesome food using local purveyors and seasonally fresh organic produce. I have always maintained that if one uses the best ingredients and doesn't over cook them, you can't go wrong!
We have NEVER used trans fats or MSG. As a matter of fact we do not own a microwave (ask Gail to tell you the story about literally tossing the microwave out the back door!).
